Signs That You Should Get A Tree Removed From Your Property

Johnni Knight

Trees offer many environmental benefits and are a great way to add aesthetic value to your property. As long as you take proper care of your trees, you won't have to cut them down. However, some circumstances might force you to get rid of one or two trees. While you might be against that step, you don't want to risk your safety.

Besides, tree removal might be the right thing to do if you want to save other trees. Allowing a tree with pests and diseases to continue growing exposes other trees to the same disease. The following signs should tell you it's time for tree removal.

Leaning Tree

Trees are supposed to grow in an upright manner, but some will naturally lean as they grow. If a tree's slant is natural, don't fret about it. On the other hand, if the leaning is something new, you might want to take the problem seriously.

A tree can slant because the roots are dead, the ground can no longer support the tree, or the entire tree is dead. If the slanting isn't natural, contact a professional tree remover to cut the tree down.

Dead Branches

A sick tree will most likely have dead branches on it. While the branches won't die all at once, they'll eventually die if the tree isn't treated. Unfortunately, dead branches are dangerous because they might fall on you or your house.

Besides, a tree that's dropping branches is more likely to fall because of compromised stability. To avoid any accidents or property damage, have such a tree removed immediately.

Pests or Diseases

If you notice that a particular tree is infested with pests or diseases, you should remove it from your property. Some diseases are so infectious that they'll spread to other trees pretty fast.

Other diseases will kill the tree eventually. If you can spot pests or diseases on your trees, inform your arborist before the problem spreads to surrounding trees. The arborist might recommend tree removal if the infestation or disease is beyond control.

Roots Too Close to Your Home

Tree removal might be imminent if the roots of a tree are getting too close to your home. When roots get too close to the foundation of your home, they'll break it and bring weakness to the building.

Sometimes, the root will also break sewer and water lines, causing you to incur huge losses. If an arborist determines that the roots of a tree are going to cause structural damage to your home, get the tree removed immediately.
